Green Pass is a first class cabin (also known as Green Car) on all Shinkansen and some of the fast trains. This pass gives more comfortable seat and environment with a large reclined seat, ample leg space, integrated radio and luggage space. Just for your information, we can say that  ordinary class cabin is also a very high standard. Therefore, Green Pass is usually recommended for peak travel seasons (May, August and September) since they are generally less crowded than the ordinally carriages.

The type of passes available and suitable for you differ based on your itinerary. If you travel only in certain area, you should get limited area pass. Alternatively, if you are planning to visit many different parts, you should get the national pass as it covers whole Japan. Please feel free to ask us which pass to buy and we would be helpful for you according to your itinerary.

Children of ages 6 and below can travel for free with a pass holder. Children ages between 6 and 11 years will require a Child Pass, while children above 12 years old will require Adult Passe.
